Day 2 of New York Fashion week hit the ground running with a plethora of shows to kick off our weekend vibes. Here are a few presentations that caught our eye..
First Kate Spade New York, known for her quirky and at often times whimsical accessories debuted her Fall RTW 2016 at Rockefeller Center. Adorned with bouquets and 70’s inspired luciousness, Kate’s show was a breath of fresh air for our Friday morning. With music inspired pieces such as a boombox clutch, added to the peasant top, poet blouse, and lace ensembles that are so reminiscent of 1970’s New York.
Next Jason Wu, who is undoubtedly one of my favorite designers, his simple silhouettes mixed with pops of bright yellow adorned the runaway. Wu’s RTW 2016 had a hint of grunge as structured jackets with fur collars paired with sexy slip dresses brought a modern edge to the collection.
Polo Ralph Lauren brought his classic style to his RTW 2016 presentation, with a diverse group of 40 men and women who modeled his newest collection at his showroom. Lauren’s collection mixed English Country Side and more modern sexy elements that embodied the everyday man and woman.
Saving the very best for last…Rihanna’s line with Puma, FENTY X PUMA. Gothic, athletic, intrinsic, there are truly not enough words to describe this collection. Models were adorned with piercings and white hair, street vibes mixed with lesuire were the center point of the collection. Not to mention Gigi Hadid closing out the show..
Need I say more.
I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 3 of NYFW16
